I'll probaby have to start over. Didn't get any c++ error, so probably not the same bug as you had. But, I'll figure it out when I look into it some day... Did't post to get help solving the problem (don't have the details here anyway, as it was some days ago on my computer at home). I just posted to let you (Numberyellow) know that you're not the only one having installation problems, and to agree that MA should take it seriously. And Welcome to you btw. You seem like a reasonable and a bright guy, so you'll probably do well, if you decide to 'stay'. |

I wouldnt pay much attention to the reputation issue. Although some had fun in the hilarious rep wars. Bit childish I think. Let's face it: it's the forum. Your reputation in game is something you should heed. As for the breakable weapon (L=Limited). I guess you are refering to the free weapons on the New Player Experience mission on Arkadia where you get some basic L tools, a L vehicle and UL clothes. These are ment to give you an idea on the game mechanics. At the same time the mission forces you to take a tour around the world. The only free repairable pistol (UL/unL=unlimited) is the NIP or Next Island Pistol, which has same stats as the Sollomate Opalo (a fairly starters laser rifle) but cant be amped. You can get the NIP, a scanner (both unL) and the Next Island Blueprintbook by doing some starters missions on planet Next Island. Maybe someone can give you ride. Maybe this is a new concept for you, but here is were MindArk makes money: decay. Everything you use degrades. It has either be repaired or replaced. In short: Unlimited tools are not (as a thumb of rule) economic until you reached a certain skill level. When you spend some time ingame you will understand this. So, why is L better? *sometimes it more expensive to repair unL and is buying new L just cheaper (e.g. armor) *using the better unL weapons for example will not be eco till you reach level 100 for that hunting skill...so basicly meaning you will have more misses..and every missed bullet is PED wasted *here is also where MarkUp (or marketvalue, value set by players) kicks in...the better unL might have such a high MU that its just cheaper to stick to L * and more reasons Understand that Entropia has a pretty steep learning curve. So if something strikes you as odd....then its time to do some reading or asking around cause you prolly have the wrong premisis (this is not ment as a pun). Everything is designed with a certain reason and logic. Wish you a great time, Roni

Gave it some tries, involving deleting cache and re-run c++ upgrader... Not sure what made it work, but it finally did. Then I ran into next problem. The game wouldn't start. Thankfully someone found a workaround in another thread here. Seems MA doesn't like my CPU. ![]() MA really aught to take these issues more seriously. They're losing all the non-geek customers.
